If you are planing for a party, bruschetta is must. They are so easy to make and your visitors will love them. There are many different type of bruschetta that people make for their parties. My favorite bruschetta recipe is with cheese, tomato and herbs. You can add anything that you like as a topping.
What bread is bruschetta made from?
The most common question that people asked is what kind of bread is used for bruschetta recipe? As fare as the bread is rustic crusty bread or artisan bread make a perfect bruschetta. I like to use French baguette. Cut them into small size crossed pieces and toast them on a cast iron gill pan.
How do you make Bruschetta?
- Take a large glass bowl and add diced tomatoes and onion. Wine tomatoes are best for this recipe. If you can’t find wine tomatoes you can use ripe cherry tomatoes. They both works fine.
- Then add the minced garlic, finely chopped fresh basil, freshly grounded black pepper and salt and mix them all together.
3. Now let’s make the cheese spread. Take Ricotta cheese on to another small glass bowl and Squeeze the lemon half, olive oil, freshly ground back pepper and salt and mix well.
4. Mix crushed (minced) garlic and olive oil in a small bowl and spread them over both sides of sliced baguette. (some people just rub the garlic over the bread and pour the olive oil, but I preferred mixing the garlic and olive oil together and use a brush over the bread.)
5. Once you prepare the toppings, toast the baguette both side for about 2-3 minutes on a grill pan with medium heat. Also you can grill them on a oven.
6. When the bread is ready, spread the cheese mix over and place the tomato mix on top.
Enjoy your bruschetta while bread is hot and crunchy.
