This is one of the easiest and very tasty dish that I have come across. Pineapple curry is very popular in the Asia. I have addicted to the taste of this dish. Some people cook this pineapple curry with rice or chicken, but i preferred to cook it’s own and cutting them into small cubes.
Kids will love this dish. I always cook this dish when we have a special occasion or party. The taste of this curry will make everyone go crazy for more. When adding the spices, I have no fix amount it depend on the people who eats them, Chili flakes are my favorite but go easy on them when you cook this pineapple curry for the first time.
This pineapple curry dish is a 100% vegetarian and gluten free. Everyone has their own ways of cooking this dish. What amazed me is you will expect the pineapple to retain it flavors but it doesn’t. Although you taste the sweetness, it’s not exactly the same.
Sweetness mixed with the hot spices, it’s a different world.
Pineapple Curry Recipe
- 1 large Pineapple cut into bite size cubs
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Chili Flakes
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 medium Onion
- 4-5 clove Garlic
- Salt to taste
- Heat the butter in a pan or wok on a medium flame. Add garlic to the butter and add the chopped onion and stir until onion is softened. Then add the chili flakes and cook about 3 minutes in a very low flame.
- Now add the pineapple and bring the heat up to medium. Add salt and mix well. And add the sugar and mix again.
- Keep stir until the gravy is dissolved. You may notice that pineapple color will change gradually.
