Let me tell you how I come up with this Russian Salad Recipe. My sister was on top of the world last week as her husband gifted her a brand-new car. She wanted to show it to all her friends and share her excitement with them. She thought of throwing a grand party for them at her home and invited them over, but unfortunately due to this pandemic (Covid-19), she couldn’t do that.
So, she planned a delicious meal menu with a variety of dishes and shared it with her husband and our family. While we were cooking she asked me, can you make Russian salad? . I said, Yes. Then I made the salad and it turn out very well. Everyone enjoyed the salad and finished them all. So I thought, this can be a good recipe for my blog.
The texture of Russian salad quite different from the standard salads and also found it unique in the sense that it is not too heavy and not too light either but just a perfectly nutritious, tasty, and flavorful food.
Repairing the Russian salad is quick and very easy. With some boiled and raw veggies, fruits, and a simple dressing.
This take me back to the old days, Every time when we visited our grandma, is always make Russian salad. I learned this Russian salad recipe from her.
There are so many names for Russian Salad such as “Ensalada Rusa” or “Olivier Salad” or “Salad Olivieh”. Russian Salad ingredients.
Carrots: are one of the main ingredients of the Russian salad. Should have the crunchiness and the freshness but not the taste of eating a raw carrot, that’s why we need to cook for at-least one minute.
Beans: also a main ingredient for this salad. It shouldn’t be cooked too much, 1 minuet in a boil water will do the job. Crunchy but not over cooked.
Potatoes: is the most important ingredient in this salad. Cut them into little small than bit size cubes and cook thoroughly.
For the Russian Salad Dressing: This dressing is very easy and simple. All you need is
- Mayonnaise
- Cream
- White Pepper
- Salt
Other Ingredients are:
- Bell Pepper
- Apple
- Green Pea
- Sweet Corn
- Pineapple
- Raising
- Cashew Nuts.
How to make Russian Salad Step by Step?
- Boil the water in a pan. Add the diced carrots and green beans and cook for about 1 minute. After a minute take them off the pan and set aside.
- Next boil the potatoes. Add potatoes to the boiling water and close the lid. Cook until potatoes are cooked.
- Get a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, cream, white pepper and salt. Mix them well.
- Now add bell peppers. Use 3 different colors of bell peppers and cut them into small pieces. Making a colorful salad is the way to get the kids attention.
- Add apple. Make sure you cut them into bit size pieces. I left the skin on, If you don’t like the apple skin, you can peel them off.
- Add green pea and sweet corn and mix them all together.
- Now add the pineapples, raisins and cashew nuts and mix together.
- Finally add the boiled carrots, green beans and potatoes and mix until all combined together.
- Enjoy your Russian salad.

- 100 g Carrots diced
- 100 g Beans diced
- 1 large Potato diced
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Cream
- 1 tsp White Pepper powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 90 g Bell Pepper (30g each) red / green / yellow
- 1 large Apple cut into bit size pieces
- 100 g Pea
- 100 g Sweet Corn
- 200 g Pineapple cut into bit size pieces
- 50 g Raising
- 50 g Cashew Nuts roasted
Instructions
